Hi again,
After we spent many good moments in first month, finally we jumped the second month which is our last month in Cluj Napoca. It was not good idea to count the days but ı counted the days left, every day because ı have not really wanted to leave from Cluj. Anyway, I still have many good and interesting things to explain to you, before explain the sadness of leaving.
After on arrival training, ı was thinking that life in Cluj is going to be boring for me because I had really good time in OAT but I did not know that Cluj and our organization will have better options for us. After OAT, we made a short rest then we were getting ready to go Alba Iulia for Romanian National day. We took a bus from Cluj with our president. After a good trip, we reached to Alba Iulia. The weather was really cold but the ambience was warm enough to make us feel goodJ. Then, we watch the cortege of Romanian Army and visited the National Museum of the Union. It was really awesome for me to see history of Romania and celebrate the national day of Romania with Romanian people.
The time was running and the time was about the time to meet with our new volunteers. We decided to create a welcome party for them. We prepared some foods and organized the office for party. It was really good to meet with them. We had volunteers from Macedonia, Finland, Belarus, and Armenia. They were 4 new members of our EVS family.
Afterwards, we started to work about our events again. We created a schedule of December events. Then, we created the second International World Café. We decided to change the place for second International Café according to feedbacks we got from participants. It was really nice event and we were happy to see that we have new guests, as well as we have old guests too.
We also created the second Movie Night event in our office. We choose the movie “Food Inc.” for our second Movie Night event. We had many guests in our office and we had a chance to talk with them and get some feedbacks after the movie.
Personally, I really like the Christmas time. We also have good Christmas activities and celebrations for the Christmas in my hometown but we do not really have Christmas soul because we have different religion. Even I celebrate Christmas with my friends and my family; it is never same that I am celebrating Christmas in Christian country. I was so happy to celebrate the Christmas here in Romania. The Christmas design of Romanian cities was impressive. I bought many traditional things from Christmas markets and I shared my happiness with other people. Moreover, I had chance to discover other religions in that period. I learnt lots of information about Christianity and the traditions of Christians. I participate the Carol’s Night in Protestant Church thanks to my Romanian friend; Damaris. I also visited her family and spent a night with her family in Christmas. It was good opportunity to see that “what the Christians do something traditional in Christmas period? “. They were so kind and hospitable and I had a good Christmas time with them.
During the Christmas holiday, I visited some Romanian cities with my mentor. My mentor was the one of my best friend in Cluj and she helped me a lot during my EVS period. We created a trip with her and we started our trip with her car. We visited Oradea, Arad, Timişoara, Caransebeş(Damaris), Sibiu and Sighişoara in short time. I really had a great time during our trip. I could also discover the natural beauty of Romania. We had to pass some small towns and villages because of our route and I saw many interesting things during our trip.
In conclusion, I had a really good second month. I still have 5 days in Cluj and I want that 5 days will pass really slowly. I hope, I will have chance to come to Cluj soon and maybe I will able to do my long term EVS here again. I feel lucky to have good friends and a good president in Cluj. I had a great a great time here thanks to them.
Thank you to my all friends, my mentor(Andrea) and the best president(Beri) ever! J
Happy New Year! / La multi ani!
